A. Policy for requesting birth, marriage, divorce, and death records

Bermuda has a single, nationwide repository of civil registration records. Records are held by the Registry General.

B. Procedure for requesting birth, marriage, divorce, and death records

Contact the Bermuda Registry General for birth, marriage, and death records. Contact the Registry of the Supreme Court for divorce records.

2. Birth records

Include the following information in requests for birth records:

    Full name of child at birth

  • •

    Sex of child

  • •

    Date and place of birth

  • •

    Names of the parents, including the maiden surname

  • •

    Names of the parents of a single parent

  • •

    Certificate Registration Number (optional)

  • •

    Whether the birth was a maritime birth (i.e., occurred on-board a Bermuda registered ship)

    Birth Certificates (BCs), Short Form - $29.00 U.S.

  • •

    Long Form BCs - $34.00 U.S.

  • •

    Death Certificates - $34.00 U.S.

  • •

    Divorce - $15.00 U.S.

  • •

    Marriage Certificates - $36.00 U.S.
