The myCOA application generally follows the current business process and guidelines
outlined in the TC 09000.000 and GN 02605.000.
Users will access the myCOA input screen through the “Contact Link,” located in the
“My Profile” tab. The input screen will allow the user to:
-
•
view any address and telephone number information that we currently have on our records
(Title II, Title XVI, and concurrent users);
-
•
update their telephone number. This change will be reflected in the user’s profile
immediately (Title II, Title XVI, and concurrent users); and
-
•
update their mailing address with the option to have the change made “today” or “on
a later date” (within 90 days) (Title II users only).
The Title II Redesign program processes changes of address and telephone number inputs
from myCOA and the Post-Entitlement Online System (POS). This is the same program
that processes address and telephone number changes that field office (FO) and teleservice
center (TSC) technicians input for beneficiaries.
Once the user submits a change via the internet and discovers they made a mistake,
they can make the correction via the myCOA input screen. The user can also make a
correction by contacting the FO or 800# the next day to report the change.
The myCOA changes are reflected in the MBR and SSR overnight. Address changes with
future effective dates remain pending until the appropriate month.
