Wage items reported to the wrong agency can be transferred at any time to or from the RRB by the RRB or SSA on its own motion. Correctional returns are not needed.

The RRB can certify individual earnings to SSA at any time for those who, at the time, of retirement, death, or disability, have less than 10 years of railroad service in the railroad industry. See RS 01601.105, GN 04020.050 and GN 04020.070.
