EDCS is a web-based application used to record the medical information for a disability
claim. The information collected in EDCS mirrors the information collected on the
paper disability reports (e.g., SSA-3368, Disability Report – Adult, the SSA-3820,
Disability Report - Child) and Internet Disability Reports (IDRs).
-
1.
Collect disability report information on the EDCS 3368 (adult) or the EDCS 3820 (child),
as appropriate, using EDCS to record the claimant’s disability information that was:
-
•
Gathered during the claims interview with the claimant, or
-
-
2.
Complete the EDCS 3367. The questions on the EDCS 3367 screens correspond to those
on the paper SSA-3367.
-
3.
If EDCS exclusions or limitations are present for any claim associated with a case,
establish a paper Modular Disability Folder (MDF) as the official folder.
