Internet Users (IU) gain access to SSA’s online services through SSA’s Internet site
at www.socialsecurity.gov.
-
•
i3368 - IUs must first complete and file an iClaim (Benefit Application) to access
the i3368. There are no exceptions. The i3368 opens automatically after the user submits
the iClaim.
-
•
i3441 - IUs must first complete and submit a request for appeal through iAppeals to
gain access to the i3441. There are no exceptions. The i3441 opens automatically after
the user submits either an i561 reconsideration request or i501 hearing request.

•
i3820 - The i3820 is the only standalone IDR. IUs may access and submit the i3820
without first filing an iClaim or iAppeal.
NOTE 1: The i3368 was a standalone IDR until 01/25/2014. Before that date, IUs were able
to create i3368s independently of filing an iClaim.
NOTE 2: iClaim submission establishes a claim for benefits, but there is no i3368 to propagate
to the Electronic Disability Collect System (EDCS) until the IU submits the i3368.
We do not require the IU to complete and submit the i3368; submission is at the IU’s
discretion.
