DI 81010.160 Processing Favorable Appeals Council (AC) Decisions

If the AC issues a favorable decision on a case, they notify the appropriate effectuating
component of the decision for case processing via a transmittal sheet to aid in identifying
AC decisions. The Processing Center (PC) is responsible for processing favorable Title
II AC decisions and the Field Office (FO) is responsible for processing favorable
      Title XVI AC decisions.

   The AC will:

            •
               Scan the decision into the CEF;

-

            •
Fax the transmittal sheet to the FO (Title XVI) and/or to the PC (Title II) which
                  states EFFECTUATION NECESSARY; and

-

            •
Add a message to the CEF that a favorable decision has been issued.

The FO receives notification of the favorable Title XVI decision via receipt of the
      transmittal sheet.

Upon receipt of the favorable Title XVI AC decision, the FO effectuates the decision
and processes the claim following normal procedures per New Claims or Appeal Filed
While a Prior Claim or Appeal is Pending before the Appeals Council (AC) – Title II
or Title XVI - DI 12045.027.
