With the enactment of P.L. 99-643, certain procedures (including the trial work period and the extended period of eligibility) and substantial gainful activity (SGA)  cessations were eliminated for SSI effective July 1, 1987. Since those procedures apply only to periods beyond administrative finality, they have limited use. Therefore, they have been removed from this subchapter.
