The CPS pays Title II benefits:

  in critical cases;

• •

  when regular MBR payments cannot be made; and

• •

  when the beneficiary is in current payment status but additional benefits are due.

In addition to the Title II benefits, the CPS also:

  makes one-time payments; and,

• •

  establishes continuing monthly payments.

The CPS automatically generates a beneficiary notice when:

• •

  payment is initiated (except in certain situations , see MSOM INTRANETCPS 001.004 through MSOM INTRANETCPS 001.006); and,

• •

  a correction transaction changes the monthly benefit payment..
