GN 01749.225 Requests for Status of Applications for Czech Benefits

A. Automatic status notice for an application for Czech benefits

When the Division of International Operations (DIO) forwards claims material (such as information about a Czech claim, certified copies of evidence, or a copy of the worker’s U.S. coverage record) to the Czech Republic, the Benefit Earnings Technician (BET) electronically stores the claims material in the Paperless Processing Center (PPC) system in DIO before forwarding the claim to the Czech agency. The system automatically generates a notice that the BET sends to the applicant. The notice informs the applicant that DIO forwarded the claims material to the Czech Republic.

B. Applicant requests status of a Czech claim

If an applicant contacts the Social Security Administration (SSA) for status of the applicant's claim for Czech benefits and states that the applicant has not received notification that DIO forwarded the claim to the Czech agency, check the PPC system. NOTE: Field offices are able to check the PPC system through the Evidence Portal (EP) application. See MS 09701.001 for an overview of the EP application, and to access the EP User Guide.

1. PPC does not show that DIO forwarded the claim to the Czech Republic

If PPC does not show that DIO forwarded the claim to the Czech Republic, advise the applicant to write directly to DIO at the following address:

2. PPC shows that DIO forwarded the claim to the Czech Republic

If PPC shows that DIO forwarded the claim to the Czech Republic, advise the applicant to contact the Czech agency directly. Applicants can find contact and other information online at:
