Requests for scouting and/or feedback should be made (but are not limited to) the following situations. Scouting or feedback requests should be as explicit as possible with regard to identifying characteristics (e.g. employer’s address, EIN, periods worked, etc.)
Before processing an E/R correction via ICOR:
Obtain feedback unless backpay under a statute is involved. (MSOM EM 016.001)
Request scouting for wages for years after 1977 for years that are within the Statute of Limitations for employer reports. (MSOM EM 016.001)
An earnings adjustment/correction for a lag period may only be processed via ICOR if the earnings have already been posted to the E/R.
