The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) does not allow Medicaid payments
for individuals ages 22 through 64 who reside in facilities designated as Institutions

The Kansas Department of Social Services (SRS) may provide state funding for IMD placements
for individuals ages 22 through 64. SRS funding is considered a medical/social service
as defined in SI 00815.050 and would not be counted as income to the individual. Because Medicaid does not pay
over 50% of the care for individuals in this category, the FBR (less any countable
income) is payable.
