HI 00601.490 Related Illness or Impairment

Prior to July 1, 1981, in order for home health services to be covered under HI, a doctor must certify that the patient needs intermittent nursing care of physical or speech therapy for any condition for which the patient was receiving inpatient hospital or extended care services.

Effective July 1, 1981, no such related condition shall be required for home health services under hospital insurance.
