The law provides that an individual's disability freeze shall end if the person becomes
able to do substantial gainful work. The law also provides that an individual's freeze
period will continue for the month disability ends and the following 2 months. Information
is needed to determine whether you are still under a disability.

been submitted; (2) take a medical examination at our expense, you have not complied

If at any time in the future you qualify for a retirement insurance benefit under
the Social Security Act, the time during which you have been under a disability freeze
will not be counted against you in determining the amount of your benefit. This protection
also applies to any other benefit claim which may be filed on your Social Security
record.
