The Office of Appellate Operations (OAO) is organized by workload and includes:

Disability Processing Branches (DPB) (process disability claims),
•
Retirement and Survivors Insurance/Supplemental
Security Income ((RSI/SSI) Branch (processes non-disability
claims),
•
Court Case Preparation and Review Branches (CCPRB)
(process civil actions), and
•
Division of Quality Branches (DQB) (process Appeals
Council (AC) own motion reviews).
The preferred method for submitting a Request for Review to the AC
is by using the secure online process available at https://www.ssa.gov/benefits/disability/appeal.html.
Materials may also be submitted by fax to (833) 509-0817. For more
