In order to assure that representative payees use the funds they receive in the best interests of the beneficiaries, it has been necessary to modify and expand the representative payee procedures and policies in certain areas. Except as noted in the following sections, the procedures to be followed in representative payee cases in the countries listed below will be the same as those for domestic cases.
