After the DRS has obtained any additional evidence because of a documentation deficiency, the claim must be returned to the review component before effectuation.
The DQB must:
Prepare a Federal Review Results Form.
Return claim to DRS for effectuation.
NOTE: Do not remove the Sample Flag.
If the disagreement involves the adequacy or interpretation of medical evidence:
Send the claim to RMCS on an SSA-448 for comments.
When RMCS returns the claim, decide if you agree or disagree with the DRS determination.
Agreement: Send the claim to the DRS for effectuation.
Disagreement: Explain your disagreement on another SSA-1774-U5 marked “Second Return” and return the claim to the DRS to correct the deficiency.
