RS 01602.345 The Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) Erroneously Certifies Railroad Retirement (RR)
Earnings to the Social Security Administration (SSA)
The processing center (PC) will take the following actions when RRB certifies earnings
to us, but subsequently determines that the number holder (NH) is vested with the
RRB, so RRB certification should apply:

Notifies the PC that RR earnings were erroneously certified to us
RRB sends SSA the form G-37E in this situation.

Prepare an amended award or termination action to exclude RR earnings.

The RRB uses the G-37E instead of a RR-3 in this situation. See RS 01602.630E for a copy of the G-37E

Requests application information

Whenever the RRB requests application information, the PC will print a paper copy
of SSA’s electronic application and send it to the RRB.
