TN 1 (08-23)
Interrupted payment occurs when the beneficiary has been receiving checks regularly
and then fails to receive a check for one or more months. It includes a delayed transition
from one type of benefit to another; for example, from spouse's to survivor's benefit.
It does not include situations in which the beneficiary belatedly reports nonreceipt
of a check for a past month or months but is currently receiving checks when they
are due, nor does it include reinstatement following a regular period of suspension.
Acknowledge the request for expedited payment and have the beneficiary complete an
original or duplicate Form SSA-735. If one was previously filed, mark the form “DUPLICATE.” Forward the request to the PC following the instructions in RS 02805.025A.
