Technical quality consists of the completion of all forms, rationales, and notices
in a claim. This includes
-
•
SSA-831-U3, Disability Determination and Transmittal;
-
•
SSA-832-U3, Cessation or Continuance of Disability or Blindness Determination and
Transmittal -Title XVI;
-
•
SSA-833-U3, Cessation or Continuance of Disability or Blindness Determination and
Transmittal -Title II; and,
-
•
decision rationales and notices.
Proper completion of these documents is extremely important because discrepant, inconsistent,
or omitted entries on these forms can:
-
•
result in incorrect or incomplete data;
-
•
cause computer-entry rejection and delays in case processing; and
-
•
prevent or delay notices and benefit payments.
The Disability case processing system, the Quality Assurance (QA) system, and case
reviews done by the supervisor contribute to both the technical and the substantive
quality of cases processed in the DDS.
