HI 00620.030 Items and Services Furnished or Paid for by Governmental Entities

The Medicare law places limitations on the circumstances under which payment may be made for items and services furnished or paid for by State, local or Federal Governmental entities. The law contains separate limitations applicable to Federal providers of services (HI 00620.040), items and services which the provider or supplier is obligated under a Federal Government contract or law to furnish at public expense (HI 00620.050), and items and services paid for directly or indirectly by a State, Federal, or local governmental entity. (HI 00620.060). The following sections discuss these limitations in greater detail.
