RM 03282.005 Output Pension Information Requests (4408)

  1. A. 

    At the end of the day output all completed (keyed and verified) J4617 batches to tape. The command string for reformatting and outputting is in batch “RF4617” of job “BIG.” This section also includes the instructions for the purging of data written to tape.

  2. B. 

    Mount the first tape at load point, prepare the header following instructions in RM 03282.004, paragraphs A through C.

  3. C. 

    Execute the output command string as follows:

    1. 1. 

      Select mode “F” and key the job name “BIG” followed by a comma and the batch identifier “RF4617.” Depress the skip key twice.

    2. 2. 

      Record forward to Record #3 and enter the correct batch numbers in this record and in Record #4.

    3. 3. 

      Record back to Record #2, select mode “T,” key password and then select the “M” option.

    4. 4. 

      At the $PAUSE select mode “E” key the job name “TR4617,” batch number 1, then skip.

    5. 5. 

      Enter the required data for the trailer label and prepare external label as shown below.

    6. 6. 

      Select mode “F” and key the jobname “BIG” followed by a comma and the batch identifier “RF4617.” Depress the skip key, enter #9 then skip. This will bring you to the $TAPE WRITE command for the trailer label.

    7. 7. 

      Select mode “T”, key password and select the “M” option.

    8. 8. 

      Determine if the “WWR” flags were set for all of the batches before continuing to output the second tape file.

      Page through the batches of the data entry job to ensure that all batches listed in the $ORDER command contain the “WWR” flag and that no other batches have been flagged “WWR.”

    9. 9. 

      If it is necessary as a result of the above to re-output the units, the “WWR” must be cleared from the batches originally written to tape. Clear the “WWR” flag as follows:

      1. a. 

        Select mode “E”, job name “MASTER”, batch “MISC.”

      2. b. 

        Key the command $JOB NNN; if batch XXX then clear WWR.

        NOTE: The NNN represents the job name in which the units of pension reports were keyed. The XXX represents the desired batch numbers in which the “WWR” flag will be cleared.

      3. c. 

        Depress the release key to create the record, then depress the Record Back ( ) key to return to the command.

      4. d. 

        With the $JOB command displayed on the screen, select mode “T” , key the password and select submode “S” to execute the command.

  4. D. 

    After it has been determined that all of the batches were written to tape, place the external label on the tape reel, remove the reel and remove the write ring. Have the tape duplicated on the back-up system.

  5. E. 

    This completes outputting of the “PLINAKED” tape. Mount a second reel of tape for the “SOPIR713” file. Prepare the header following instructions in RM 03282.004, paragraphs D. through F.

  6. F. 

    Execute the output command string as follows:

    1. 1. 

      Select mode “F”, jobname “BIG”, batch identifier “RF4617” , skip, enter #11 then skip.

    2. 2. 

      Record forward (3) to Record #13 and enter the correct batch numbers in this record and in Record #4.

    3. 3. 

      Record back (3) to Record #12, select mode “T” key password than select the “M” option.

    4. 4. 

      At the $PAUSE select mode “E”, key the job name “TSOPIR” , batch number 1, then skip.

    5. 5. 

      Enter the required data for the trailer label on the Form SSA-1975, External Tape Label as shown below.

    Prepare Form SSA-3738 (Tape Transmittal) in triplicate, for each tape file, listing all pension blocks written on the output tapes.

    Also prepare memorandum, as per example following Section 03282.005 of this chapter, to MRMAB-RSDI, 3-O-15 Operations.

  8. H. 

    After obtaining the back-up tape, execute the command string to purge all batches that were written to tape as follows:

    NOTE: DO NOT purge any batches until the back-up tape has been prepared.

    1. 1. 

      Key the job name “BIG” and batch “PR4617” containing the purge command string.

    2. 2. 

      Key the batch numbers to be purged into the $JOB command, Record #2.

    3. 3. 

      After releasing the #JOB record, return to Record #1, select mode “T”, enter the password and key the status code “M.” This will execute the purge command string.

  9. I. 

    The complete outputting process has now been executed.
