When a person moves from the district of their birth, their national registration
file, including the original birth registration, is transferred to the new district
of residency in Norway.
In larger cities, where the individual does not know the name of the church in the
district where they lived, provide the address where they lived. This will be used
to identify the church involved.
a. Birth prior to 10/2/82
Priest or minister of the parish where the birth took place; or
National Register Office (Folkregisteret) in the district in which the individual resides, or last resided.
National Register Officer (Folkregisteret) in the district in which the individual resides, or last resided.
No fee if the request shows the certificate is for Social Security purposes.
