GN 01704.540 Canadian Residence Evidence

Although evidence of Canadian residence is required for persons filing for old-age security pensions, assume DOs have requested this evidence for claims filed in DOs. If, however, you are requesting Forms CAN/USA 1 from persons who may be eligible for old-age security pensions, request evidence of Canadian residence also.

If the requested evidence has not been submitted by the time the claims package is ready to be transmitted, send the package to Ottawa without the evidence. Do not followup with the claimant.
