The TSCs A1, A2, A3, E2, and E3 reflect totalization payments and we must post them to the Master Beneficiary Record (MBR) along with the appropriate TCC. Claims Authorizers are responsible for determining the TSCs. However, if the TSC is not present on the MBR, he or she should route the case to a Benefit Authorizer for the necessary action.

The TSCs are available via the Totalization Data Collection Program e4962. These codes show the status of or the decision on U.S. totalization claims.

The following is a list of the TSCs:

1. 1. 

   A1—Insured only by combining U.S. and foreign coverage—totalization benefits awarded.

2. 2. 

   A2—Insured only by combining U.S. and Italian coverage—totalization benefits awarded—guaranteed minimum provision applies.

3. 3. 

   A3—Insured only by combining U.S. and foreign coverage—totalization benefits awarded—multiple agreements.

4. 4. 

   D1—Less than six U.S. quarters of coverage—totalization denied.

5. 5. 

   D2—Six or more U.S. quarters of coverage—combined U.S. and foreign coverage does not yield insured status—totalization denied.

6. 6. 

   D3—Insured without foreign coverage—title II benefits awarded—totalization cannot provide an earlier MOE or establish DIB insured status—denied.

7. 7. 

   D4—Another factor of entitlement not met—claimant is either insured without foreign coverage or uninsured but has six or more U.S. quarters of coverage.

8. 8. 

   P1—Totalization claim pending—not insured.

9. 9. 

   P2—Totalization claim pending—insured status met.

10. 10. 

    E1—Title II beneficiary—totalization benefits either awarded but terminated or were not elected.

11. 11. 

    E2—Title II beneficiary—totalization benefits awarded.

    E3—Title II beneficiary—totalization benefits awarded—guaranteed minimum provision applies.
