GN 01708.230 Controlling Requests Sent to German Agencies on Form SSA-e2960-U3-GE

Procedure

Prepare a diary when information (usually a German coverage record) is requested from a German agency.

  Diary the initial request for six months.

• •

  If the coverage record has not been received by the end of the 6 month period, send a second request to the German agency. Be sure to write the date of the follow up at the top of the SSA-e2960-U3-GE and put a check mark in block IV.D. Rediary for 3 months.

  If the record has not arrived after the second request and at least 9 months have elapsed, send a third request with the following remark: “Third request. Please provide interim record immediately.” Rediary for 3 months.

• •

  If the German record has not arrived after the third request, spanning at least one year, route the case to ^OCO DIO CONTROLS.
