As explained in GN 01721.140 and GN 01721.145, certain provisions of the agreement apply only to persons who reside in the territory of Spain.

For purposes of the agreement, the territory of Spain includes:

  The Spanish territory on the Iberian peninsula,

  The Canary Islands,

• •

  The Balearic Islands,

• •

  The Island of Alboran, and

• •

  The North African territories of Ceuta and Melilla.
