GN 01736.205 Preparing Claims Packages in OIO for Claims Filed Outside Ireland

Procedure

1. Initial Claims Packages

Prepare initial claims packages to request Irish coverage records and to inform the Irish agency about claims for Irish benefits. (See GN 01735.205 - GN 01735.220 for the applications and the evidence required to prepare the packages.)

2. U.S. Claims

Prepare form SSA-2960-U3-IR to request the Irish coverage record, if one is needed.

3. U.S. and Irish or Irish Claim Only

Prepare a claims package that includes:

  • •

    Form SSA-2960-U3-IR

  • •

    U.S. totalization earnings record

  • •

    Medical evidence from OIO files, if the Irish claim is for disability benefits

  • •

    Evidence submitted for the Irish claim, and

  • •

    A request for the Irish coverage record, if one is needed
