GN 01763.105 Effective Date of the Agreement with Iceland

The agreement with Iceland became effective on March 1, 2019. The United States and Iceland can use periods of U.S. and Icelandic social security coverage earned in the United States or Iceland before March 1, 2019 to establish entitlement to U.S. or Icelandic benefits. However, the earliest possible date of entitlement to benefits under the agreement is March 1, 2019.
