GN 02250.030 Benefits Not Terminated When Child Attains Age 16, 18 or 19 - Waiver of Overpayment Recovery

Policy

When advance notice of attainment of ages 16, 18, and 19 has been sent, the person overpaid due to receipt of payments beyond those dates usually will be at fault for the overpayment. If advance notice was not sent or the person did not receive the notice, the person is without fault for an overpayment in the month of attainment. However, if payments continued beyond that month, it will be difficult to find that person without fault for the overpayment.
