GN 03314.015 Disclosure Without Consent to State and Local Agencies for Law Enforcement Purposes

A. Disclosure policy

1. Non-violent crimes

Disclosures to State and local agencies for non-violent crimes are generally limited to cases involving targeted investigation or prosecution of fraud and abuse in health maintenance and income maintenance programs. For specific processing instructions related to non-violent crimes, see GN 03312.110.

2. Violent crimes

For processing instructions related to violent crimes, see GN 03312.100.

B. Information we can disclose

In both non-violent and violent crime situations, we may disclose non-tax return information, such as:

  • benefit data (benefit amount, date of entitlement, date of termination or suspension);

  • date of birth;

  • medical records;

  • health insurance data;

  • enumeration data; and

  • addresses.
