Inquiries must be dealt with sensitively and responses given only after careful consideration.
Handle inquiries as follows:
wants a copy of an existing AR
comply with the request.
wants to know if an AR has been or will be prepared
check compilation of ARs; if AR is present, comply with request. If it is not present,
refer inquiries as follows:
if the teleservice center receives the inquiry, refer it to the FO/DDS;
if the FO/DDS receives the inquiry, refer it to the Regional Office;
if OCO (Office of Central Operations) receives the inquiry, refer it to the Division
if a PSC (Payment Service Center) receives the inquiry, refer it to the Reconsideration
Reviewer or if a disability issue, the Disability Examiner.
believes SSA has overlooked or misconstrued a circuit court decision and that an AR
refer as above.
wants information on AR process
answer if you can; otherwise refer as above.
