RS 00205.200 What Is An Educational Institution (EI)

A. Policy - general

An EI is a school that provides elementary or secondary education (grade 12 or below) as determined under the law of the State or other jurisdiction in which it is located.

B. Policy - education at the grade 12 level or below

1. Education provided by an elementary or secondary-level school

Assume all education provided by an elementary or secondary-level school to be at the grade 12 level or below unless there is evidence to the contrary.

2. School is a vocational school or a postsecondary school

Consider a high school-level program or course taken in a college, community college, vocational, or technical school, to be at the grade 12 level or below, if the program is approved as a secondary-level-school program by the board of education of the State or other local jurisdiction in which the school is located.
