RS 00210.040 LSDP Requirements When NH Died Before 9/1/81

  The 1939 Amendments defined as six times the Primary Insurance Amount (PIA), the monthly amount payable to a beneficiary at age 65.

• •

  The 1950 Amendments changed the lump sum to three times the PIA to the survivors or estate of all insured workers.

• •

  The 1954 Amendments set a cap on LSDP of $255.00.

For deaths after 9/12/60 and before 8/31/81, the order of priority includes:

• •

  NH's surviving spouse

• •

  unpaid funeral homes

• •

  equitably entitled persons.
