RS 01505.008 Termination of Section 218 Agreements
Citations: Soc. Sec. Act as amended in 1983, Sec. 218 (f); P.L. 98-21
Before April 20, 1983, a state's agreement could be terminated in its entirety or
for one or more absolute coverage groups. The termination could have been initiated
by the state or the Secretary of Health and Human Services. Once coverage was terminated,
it could not be provided again.
Beginning April 20, 1983, coverage agreements may no longer be terminated. If coverage
was terminated before this date, the state may again cover these groups.
If an entity is legally dissolved, it is a termination of coverage.
