DI 11010.305 Routing a Non-disability Claim after Disability Insurance Benefits (DIB) Claim Forwarded for Determination

A. Disability determination received by the field office (FO)

Send the non-disability claim to the Program Service Center (PSC). If the disability determination is favorable, when the official folder is paper, also send it to the PC if action is needed, if not, send the folder to National Record Center (NRC). For Certified Electronic Folder (CEF) cases, no action is needed.

B. Disability determination not received by the FO

If the FO has not received the disability file or notice of disability determination when the number holder’s (NHs) non-disability claim is completed and the NH is alive, forward the Retirement Survivors Insurance (RSI) file to the PC. If the DIB or DIB-Retirement Insurance Benefits (RIB) claimant dies, follow Sending Initial Disability Insurance Benefits (DIB), Freeze Claims to the Disability Determination Services (DDS) - DI 11010.255. For claims entered into the Electronic Disability Collect System (EDCS) see DI 81010.020.
