DI 11020.012 When an Application for Childhood Disability Benefits (CDB) is Not Needed

An application for CDB benefits is not needed if the child:

  • Is currently entitled to child benefits on the account (see GN 00201.005B.3.c. “General Application Taking Practices”); or

  • Was previously entitled to child benefits on the account (see DI 11020.025B.1.b. “Forms Used in CDB Claims”).

For these cases, complete the SSA-3368-BK and other required forms per DI 11020.025B. For Electronic Disability Collect System (EDCS) processing, see DI 81010.020.
