EXHIBIT -- Model Letter-Interim Notice-Reconsideration Reversal of a SGA                      cessation when a medical issue exists

NOTE: There is no appeal language in this notice. Its purpose is to notify the claimant that work on the initial determination will resume. When DDS completes their work, the claimant will receive Notice of decision with appeal rights when the DDS review is complete. See language text below:

You were previously notified that you were no longer eligible for payments under the Social Security Administration because you were found to be engaging in substantial gainful activity.

Upon receiving your request for reconsideration, we reexamined your claim and find that you are not engaging in substantial gainful activity.

It is now necessary to determine whether your impairment is still severe enough to qualify you as a disabled person who is eligible for payments. It may be necessary for you to come into our office to discuss your medical condition.

Please phone _________to arrange for an appointment. Your records are being sent to the state disability determination services that works with us in making disability determinations for residents of your state. If a representative from that office contacts you, your cooperation will expedite the processing of your claim.

This further study of your claim will require additional time. You can be assured that every effort will be made to make a determination. You will be notified promptly when our work on your claim is complete.
