DI 32001.010 Disability Claims Origin and Destination

A. Incoming claims

The disability determination services (DDS) receives disability claims folders for processing from the following components.

  1. 1. 

    Field offices (FOs) located in various cities throughout the United States

  2. 2. 

    Office of Disability Operations - Central Office (ODO-CO) located in Baltimore, Maryland (also known on case control systems as PC-7)

  3. 3. 

    Office of International Operations (OIO/PC-8/INTPSC)

  4. 4. 

    The Office of Quality Performance in Baltimore or any regional offices:

    • Region I - Boston

    • Region II - New York

    • Region III - Philadelphia

    • Region IV - Atlanta

    • Region V - Chicago

    • Region VI - Dallas

    • Region VII - Kansas City,

    • Region VIII - Denver

    • Region IX - San Francisco

    • Region X - Seattle

  5. 5. 

    The Disability Processing Branch (DPB) of any Retirement and Survivor's Insurance Program Service Center (PSC):

    • PSC # 1 Northeastern - New York (NEPSC)

    • PSC # 2 Mid-Atlantic - Philadelphia (MATPSC)

    • PSC # 3 Southeastern - Birmingham (SEPSC)

    • PSC # 4 Great Lakes - Chicago (GLPSC)

    • PSC # 5 Western - San Francisco (WNPSC)

    • PSC # 6 Mid-American - Kansas City (MAMPSC)

B. Completed claims

The DDS routes disability claims folders to the FO, ODO-CO, OQP, DRS, PSC, and the component offices of the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review (ODAR) after completion. See DI 32005.000 for routing instructions.
