DI 39527.045 DDS Layout of Office Space -- Policy

Consider the following items in an office layout to ensure an efficient operating arrangement:

  • adequate safety and security factors,

  • principle workflow that is efficiently organized,

  • office operations that are physically separated to allow for efficient procedures and controls over the work operations within each segment,

  • individuals having frequent contact placed near each other,

  • intra-office movement space not more than 15 percent of the basic DDS space requirements,

  • files that are readily accessible to principal users,

  • adequate privacy for staff, and

  • adequate lighting, noise and temperature controls.
