DI 39536.200 EDP Standards -- DDS

Each DDS has unique needs for systems, based on its size, organizational structure and experience with EDP. DDSs also have common needs stemming from the disability claims process and SSA's requirements, such as preparation and transmission of the State Agency Operations Report (SAOR) and claims control data. Standards have been established to:

  1. Ensure that DDS systems needs are met effectively and efficiently and that DDS systems are properly integrated with SSA's systems;

  2. Encourage a systematic approach to systems analysis and design through documentation requirements;

  3. Define the respective roles and responsibilities of the DDS, the regional office, and Central Office.
