DI 39554.001 DDS Audits and Administrative Reviews--General

This subchapter establishes standards and guidelines for the disability determination services (DDS) relating to audits. These standards and guidelines are necessitated by 20 CFR Parts 404 and 416 governing the Federal/State relationship as required by Public Law 96-265. 20 CFR 404.1627 and 416.1027, as supplemented by 20 CFR 200, which contain the basic information regarding DDS Audits. Audits will be conducted as soon as possible after the close of each fiscal year and establish that there has been compliance with pertinent Federal statutes and regulations.
