DI 39563.466 Quality Controls

A. General

Regulations (404.1620 and 416.1020) require that the State will provide a quality assurance function to insure disability determinations are made accurately and promptly. As an arm of management, the Quality Assurance (QA) Unit's function is to analyze the product of the DDS and report its findings and recommendations for corrective action to the agency administrator. The following QA procedures should be controlled, bearing in mind that processing time and quality must be balanced (see DI 39515.000 ff.).
