Opening a “REDETERMINATION” event in the SSI Claims System creates a “path” which guides the interviewer to the appropriate screens to document allegations and evidence relating to type of residence, as necessary.

Item 5 on the SSA-8203-BK Mark “X” in the box which best describes where you live:

Document the recipient's residence by:

  Checking the block which best describes the recipient's (and their spouse's) place of residence.

  Indicating “commercial” (COMM) or “residential” (RES) if a person lives in a room.

• •

  Indicating “recipient” (REC) or “spouse” next to places of residence if the couple's residences differ.
