NL 00702.174 Archive Retrieval
Documents that have been moved to print will be stored for a set number of days in the IA Queue. If the document is mutilated or destroyed in the print/ mail process, it can be recalled and queued for print.
Local PSC policy will determine who may access IA Queue and when documents may be retrieved from the queue.
1. Locating correct IA queue and document
This can be done in either of the following two ways:
a. Jump (J) command
A component's IA Queue can be accessed by keying “J” on the head command line followed by the PSC identification, the component designation and IA.
For example: J W600 03IA
Press ENTER. This will place you in the component's IA Queue. Now key the head command “L” (Library) and document name to locate a specific document or group of documents.
For example: L 1 or
L 123 or
Key the line command “E” in the left margin opposite the desired SSN and press ENTER to access the document edit screen.
Review the document to verify that it is the correct one. If not correct, use the PF7 (Previous) or PF8 (Next) key to go to another document on the list. Continue until the correct document is found.
This approach may be useful when logging on to M/TEXT or in assisting reviewers/managers if it is necessary to access the IA Queue of different components.
b. PF21 key
The PF21 key can only be used to access a component's IA Queue if you are currently residing in that component's queue network. For example, if you are residing in W700 22I, the PF21 facility will place you in W700 22IA. If you are residing in W100 08IR, the PF21 facility will place you in W100 08IA.
The screen will show:
List SSN Group (Y/N)>Answer Y
Partial SSN (3-9 digits)>3 to 9 digits
Reprint this notice? (Y/N)>Answer N
Press ENTER. M/TEXT will place you in the existing component's IA Queue and desired SSN range.
Key “E” in the left margin opposite the desired SSN and press ENTER.
Review the document to verify it is the correct one. If not correct, use the PF7 (Previous) or PF8 (Next) key to go to another document on the list. Continue until the correct document is found.
2. Retrieving a document from IA queue
Regardless of the IA Queue access method, once the correct document is found, enter the date that was on the mutilated notice in the date field for the electronic copy (date field of model #CTFP).
The screen will show:
List Archive subset and Retrieve one .......
List SSN group (Y/N)> Answer N
Partial SSN (3-9 digits)> leave blank
Reprint this notice?(Y/N)> Answer Y
Press ENTER to move the document to IA Queue. Press ENTER again to date stamp the transaction. You will be returned to the document's edit screen. The screen will display the message “This document is now requeued for production printing.” The document has been moved to the component's IP Queue and you are also now residing in the component's IP Queue. To reaccess the IA Queue, use the “J” command or the PF21 facility.
