A. EXHIBIT LETTER

We have changed your address in our records, as you asked. However, we will continue to send your payments to your financial institution. Please check the mailing address we used for you. If it is not complete or if you move again, please let us know.

Your Benefits While You Are Outside The U.S.

Certain things affect your benefits while you are outside the United States. For example:

  • If you are under full retirement age and work more than 45 hours in any month, you may not be eligible to receive benefits, no matter how much you earn.

  • Unless you are a U.S. citizen or a resident of the U.S., Canada, Egypt, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Romania or the United Kingdom, we must withhold a Federal income tax from your benefits. If you are a citizen and a resident of India, all or part of your benefit can be exempt from this Federal income tax if the benefits are based on Federal, State or local government employment. Let us know if you change your address again because it may change tax liability.

We have enclosed a booklet to give you more information about things that affect your benefits while you are outside the United States. It also explains what you must report to us and how to report. Please read the booklet carefully.

If You Have Any Questions

If you have any questions, you should contact one of the offices shown in the booklet. You may also write to the Social Security Administration at the address shown above. Please be sure to include your claim number if you do write. However, if you visit an office, please take this letter. It will help the people there answer your questions.
