052. RELATIONSHIP—GENERAL

The Social Security Act provides for payment of monthly benefits only to a spouse, child, dependent grandchild, or dependent parent of a worker. Since you do not meet one of these relationship requirements, you do not qualify for monthly benefits.

052.1. RELATIONSHIP—INELIGIBLE HEIRS

The Social Security Act does not provide for the payment of benefits to a  (a) (b) of an insured worker. Thus, no monthly benefits are payable to you on  (c)    's social security record.

056. REQUEST FOR INCREASE IN BENEFITS

Social security benefits are paid in accordance with the provisions of the law. Under the law, a person's benefit amount is generally based on the worker's average earnings in work covered by social security. Your present benefit rate is the highest payable to you based on your average earnings.

We regret that we are unable to help you. However, the law does not provide for benefit increases because of individual need or other personal circumstances.

060. FOLLOWUP TO IMMIGRATION AND NATURALIZATION SERVICE (G-641 SENT)

075. EFFECTIVE DATE OF THE ACT

The Social Security Act did not go into effect until January 1, 1937. Therefore, we have no record of earnings paid before that date.
