      A. Purpose
      This emergency message is to inform PASS specialists that the use of the       SSA Plan to Achieve Self-Support (PASS) Control and Information System (CIS) is mandatory.

      B. Background
      In March 2024, enhancements to the PASS CIS application were completed. The old PASS CIS application is no longer available and specialists should start using the new       PASS CIS immediately.

      C. PASS Procedure
      PASS specialists must use the PASS CIS application to track and monitor the status of PASS participants.

      D. PASS CIS Enhancements
      The latest version of PASS CIS increases user functionality making it easier to control the PASS workload. See below for additional enhancements.


        · Real time interactive reports allow users to obtain data for records as soon as the data is entered.
        · The reports can be used to track receipts, decisions, developments, and tickles.
        · Dynamic entries guarantee suitable selections, while updated decision types provide context for PASS decisions.
        · Simplified fields request only the information necessary for processing and tracking PASS plans.
        · Modern architecture will allow future enhancements and updates as needed.
        · The Single Page Application format ensures all PASS plan data is contained in a single page instead of multiple cascading pages.

      Direct all program-related and technical questions to your Regional Office (RO) support staff using vHelp or Program Service Center (PSC) Operations Analysis (OA) staff. RO support staff or PSC OA staff may refer questions, concerns or problems to their Central Office contacts.
