RM 03258.015 Complaints from the Public Regarding Pension Information Furnished

Complaints received from the public regarding information furnished can be handled on a case by case base or according to the chart in RM 03258.018. The types of complaints may consist of the following:

EXAMPLES:

  • Complaints regarding pension information previously furnished or denied.

  • Complaints regarding the wording of the Potential Private Retirement Benefit Information Notice.

  • Complaints regarding the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA).

  • Complaints about the receipt of a Potential Private Retirement Benefit Information Notice, Furnished as the result of a claim.

  • Complaints that a Plan Administrator or employer has been uncooperative or hindered the individual in applying for benefits.
