Background

As part of the Commissioner's Program Debt Write-off project, and to provide a more efficient and streamlined debt management/collection process in the Program Service Centers (PSC), policy changes were suggested to eliminate the Debt Contact Representative (DCR) telephone contact requirement.

Summary of Changes

GN 02210.212 Debt Contact Representative (DCR) Use of Telephone in Debt Collection

Due to the Commisioner's Program Debt Write-off Project, DCRs will no longer need to make phone calls resultng from the RECOOP alerts 00100, to collect debt from beneficiaries. Since POMS GN 02210.212 is the chapter on DR use of the telephine in debt collection, it is no longer needed. Therfore, we are archiving this POMS.
