A. Purpose
The purpose of this emergency message (EM) is to inform Social Security field office (FO) and Program Service Center (PSC) technicians about a new hyperlink to access the web-based Benefits Planning Query (BPQY) program.
B. Background
The BPQY is part of the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) efforts to inform Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) beneficiaries and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients about their disability benefits and the use of work incentives. A BPQY statement contains comprehensive information about an individual's disability benefits and work status to help them start, continue or plan a successful return to work.
C. Procedure
As part of the agency’s effort to have our servers achieve Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) compliance, the URL to access the BPQY will change. Effective September 23, 2024, users will use this new URL to access the BPQY.
Please change your existing web-based BPQY URL on September 23, 2024; the current BPQY URL will no longer work after Friday, September 20, 2024. The migration should not affect the BPQY’s functionality, in other words, you shouldn’t experience any problems or interruptions when accessing the BPQY on Sept. 23rd.
NOTE: The server migration will begin on Friday, September 20, 2024, as a result, the BPQY will be unavailable from Friday, September 20th, 2024, 6:00pm PDT (9pm EST) through Sunday September 22, 2024, 11:00pm PDT (2am EST).
Direct all program-related and technical questions to your Regional Office (RO) support staff using vHelp or Program Service Center (PSC) Operations Analysis (OA) staff. RO support staff or PSC OA staff may refer questions, concerns or problems to their Central Office contacts.
